Abstract

This study raises the discussion about the importance of training and performance of teachers in an inclusive perspective, seeking information regarding the process of school inclusion, since the educational environment are individuals with different conceptions that can interfere with this process. The research was carried out with 10 teachers from Oscarina Santos municipal school, located in Salvaterra city, Marajó archipelago, PA. For data collection, a questionnaire (containing open and closed questions) was applied. After collection, the results were analyzed and discussed with authors from the field. The results showed that 50% of the interviewees have difficulties to work with special students, due to the fact that they do not have enough subjects in their graduation courses to provide support for these clients and also due to the absence of training courses in the area, hence the importance of the teacher is always looking for ways to enable them to work in an inclusive way. Thus, it is clear that teachers play a key role in the process of school inclusion, since they are responsible for the learning of all students, without distinction.
