The present research aimed to investigate what skillful behavior desired for a teacher to have a healthy teacher and student interaction. The methodology was based on a short review in the Scielo Brasil database, with the descriptors "teacher-student interaction" and "social skills" and "teacher" or "teacher". From the articles found it was possible to perform a thematic analysis dividing the results into categories for the discussion, the axes were: General Social Skills Required; Social Skills: Behavior and Communication; Conflict management; Teacher Management in Teaching- Learning; The School and School Inclusion, Problems and Teacher-Student Mirror. The results pointed out that the skillful behavior of affective and proximity aspects of the teacher-student relationship is something desired for the teaching profession. Beyond social skills like empathy, making friendships, assertiveness and problem solving. However, these factors are not addressed in the teaching of Brazilian universities. It is hoped that such a study can help foster discussions about quality education for children, youth and adults.
