Abstract

This article deals with the analysis of the textbook made by a group of 16 (sixteen) elementary school teachers (final years), specifically in the Municipal Elementary Schools Deputado Federal Ulysses Guimarães and Lauriza Vieira de Lima in Horizonte-Ceará. Its general objective: to analyze the opinion of teachers from the 6th to the 9th grade about the quality of the textbook and its use in school life. And specific objectives: to identify the proposals present in the Pedagogical Political Projects (PPP’s) of the schools participating in the research; describe the profile of teaching professionals; explain how the textbook selection process took place; and understand the teachers' daily lives using the textbook. To do so, theoretical research and the application of questionnaires via Google Forms were used in the work. The work will be organized into four topics, namely: Identifying the proposals present in the schools' PPPs; Profile of teaching professionals; The process of choosing textbooks; and Teachers' daily lives using textbooks. After investigating these points, it is concluded that the textbook is still the most used resource in the classroom, but that it is also not the only pedagogical instrument for teaching, and can be worked side by side with the others. existing instruments for that purpose.
